This olive is sometimes called the swollen olive. It is a heavy shell a short spire and oval body . The outside The color can vary from light brown or dark brown on a cream back ground to yellowish green. Gibbosa Olives range from the Indian Ocean, across the northern Australian/New Zealand shores, to just south of the Sea of Japan. They prefer shallow water, are carnivorous and feed on other mollusks at night.
