The Pacific Ramosus;  Genus: Murex (Rock Shells). The shell color is white with brown ridges and blotches. The front opening of the shell is pink.Range. Indo-Pacific from the Indian Ocean east across the northern shores of Australia/New Zealand and north along the China Sea to just south of the Japanese Sea. The Ramosus (sometimes called the Branch Murex) is popular among crafters and shell collectors. It prefers coral reef areas, where as a carnivore (meat eater) feeds on other shell creatures. The Ramosus is a heavy shell has a low spire and inflated body.
