Product Description

Pink Throat Murex.  Rock Shells; Genus Murex. Range: south east pacific Guaymas to Peru.  Moderately shallow water. The Pink Throat Murex is highly sought by collectors. Size is between 3 to 6 inches The shell surface has a number of spiny vertical folds. The opening is large and round the outer lip is thick and has hollow folded spines. As the shell grows another vertical fold is added. The canal is broad, closed and bends backwards. The shell’s color is white, some are pinkish white and the polished opening to the shell has a pinkish tint.
